My quote is not poetry, but from St. John Climacus. This was written for monks, but we can apply this to our lives as well. Not being an extrovert myself, I find his goal of humility encouraging.
Step 25 #65: ‘The sinews of humility and its ways, but not its attributes, are: poverty, hidden withdrawal from the world, concealment of wisdom, simplicity of speech, asking of alms, hiding of nobility, banishment of familiarity, exclusion of loquacity.’
Though we as people are not well known, we don’t need to be! A ‘hidden’ life can be full, dynamic, and God honoring!
